Presentation to the  Full Channel  Portuguese TV Show Caravela Program:  The Academy recognized the Portuguese Caravela show aired through Full Channel in Warren, RI at our supper at Lusitano Restaurant. Joseph Moniz and Manuel Estrela were the pioneers to start the program twenty (25) years ago – February 22^nd. We would like to express our gratitude for their volunteerism, dedication and time to keep our Portuguese customs, culture and language alive. Also, the program has kept our Portuguese Community informed of the various issues whatever they may be.

President’s message:  I would like to thank you - the Figueiredo Family for doing a great job accommodating all our Compadres and Comadres and serving an excellent “ceia”. We enjoy and look forward to see all of you, however I remind you that you need to call to avoid over capacity but more so food preparation for the restaurant. I made an appeal for assistance with some items; unfortunately I have not received any calls as of the time of this print.

Returns: Some of the bulletins have been returned because some of our Compadres and Comadres have moved or gone South/Florida for a period of time. Because they have put a hold on their mail, we are getting returns. Also, if you are receiving the Bulletin but you are no longer interested, please let us know – to avoid the expense.

Lunch vs. Supper: one of our Compadres proposed the idea of having some of our gatherings as lunches instead of suppers. I would like to hear from you at the upcoming supper what you think about that. His rational was because his Dad, who is 90 years old, would like to continue to attend but it is difficult to come in the evening.

As it was stated on the last Bulletin, we will be honoring an individual, group or organization that does something to promote or encourage the Portuguese Language or Culture. This month we are going to honor the television program – Caravela which is celebrating its 25^th Anniversary. Joseph Moniz and Manuel Estrela started the program at the Cable Station - Full Channel in Warren, RI. The station reaches the communities of Barrington, Bristol and Warren. Thank for all the years of service.
