Charanga – a group of Firemen (35 members) from Vila Franca do Campo, São Miguel took part in the Bristol’s 225th 4th of July Parade. The Mayor – Dr. Antonio Cordeiro, his wife, the officers and members enjoyed their stay and parade very much. They had the opportunity to visit Dighton Rock Museum under the guidance of our Compadre Dr. da Silva and our Comadre Dona Silvia. Compadre Daniel Amaral came along to keep everyone in line. Compadre José Soares and his spouse Leonor were very helpful providing beverages and desert for the Charanga. Thank you! Thank you!
Portuguese Flag Dedication – Our Faithful Friend dedication was about the most important symbol of Portugal – its flag. Our Compadre Dr. da Silva presented the historical meaning of the flag, its colors and symbols. Our compadres and comadres took home a small replica of the Portuguese flag.

P’ra suéca, xadrez e voleibol, Os melhores cantadores convidei
Até concursos de gastronomia !... P’ra improvisar as cantorias !...
Todos desconheem a realidade. O Jornal pouco anunciava
Porque não sabem a modalidade O Correspondente despresava
Que Luis Váz de Camões sabia. Todos os Concursos de Poesias.
Os comes e bebes nunca esquece Culpa dos Senhores Dirigentes

The Diet of the American Flag:
During our last supper our Compadre Luciano da Silva presented the history and the meaning of the colors of the Portuguese and their guide for a healthy diet. It was a very interesting presentation!
In this supper our Compadre Luciano da Silva is going to make another similar presentation concerning the American Flag! Come, bring your friends for a good time and more surprises!!!
