The Diet of the Portuguese Diet, the best in the world!
The meaning of the symbols and colors of the Portuguese Flag!
By Manuel Luciano  da Silva, MD

Portugal became independent on July 25, 1139. It is one of the oldest nations in the world. It is approaching the ninth century!

The colors:

The Portuguese flag has five  colors: red, green,  white,  yellow and blue .

The red meanings courage and symbolizes the color of the sunrise and sunset which  the Portuguese were the first people of the world to see during  their  discoveries. Not the blood of our saints…
The green represents the color of the high seas, not  the green valleys of Portugal.

The white means purity and is the remnant of the first flag.

And the yellow represent the gold symbolizing the world sphere because  it was the Portuguese who  proved that the world was round.

The blue means justice.

The Symbols:

(1)      The world sphere- (Armillary) - represents the earth which  the Portuguese  demonstrate to be round.

(2)      The seven castles represent those  castles conquered to the Moors in Algarve

(3)      The Quinas (or Fives) represent the five wounds of Christ. Counting the middle one twice,  we end up with the figure 30 which stands for  the 30 piece of coins that Judas sold Christ.

The Diet of the  of the Portuguese Flag:

The Diet of the Portuguese Flag is the best in the world for us to control our weight, cholesterol, our sugar and arterial pressure.

We should select our goods  in accordance with  the dominant colors of the Portuguese flag: red, green, white and yellow.

We should choose our foods  in accordance with percentages of  colors as they exist on the Portuguese flag.

Red Foods:

All foods that have blood: meat and fish. They must be  boiled or grilled. Meat should be the size of the palm of our hand without the fingers… The red foods are also rich on anti-oxidants against heart disease and blood clots.

They are: plums, cherries, cranberries, red apples, red grapes, red wine, etc.

Green foods:

Vegetables  and fruits:  Broccoli, Kale, kiwis, peas,  etc.

Yellow  foods:

They are rich in beta-carotenes good for our skin and eyes: Carrots, Clementines, lemons, oranges, mangos, etc.

White foods:

The white tell us that we should use small portions of white foods because they are our mortal sins!

Here they are:
